ATTENTION! LEARNING UPDATE

 HELLO EVERYONE!

I hope you are doing good.

My post is about  21st-century learning and how it is significant for education.

I want you to imagine ten years from now.

What are you doing?  How do you study? What do you use while studying? Now imagine the same scenario today. I am sure it is quite different.

The time passed so fast that everything evolved so quickly. We live in a bustling world that has improvements simultaneously. Thus in this globalized world, teaching should be improved too according to digital native's needs. The term digital native describes a person who has grown up in the digital age (rather than having acquired familiarity with digital systems as an adult, as a digital immigrant) (Wikipedia, 2020). Therefore what we should understand is 21st-century learning.

What is 21st-century learning?

21st-century learning refers to improvements in student's skills while teaching them learning contents. Instead of memorizing the subjects, the student should develop the skills to apply, analyze, evaluate, and create

What are those skills?

They are called 4C

  • Collaboration
  • Communication
  • Creativity
  • Critical thinking

Teachers should design the teaching content according to the needs of their students while integrating technological tools into the lessons since the targeted audience is digital natives. For instance, classroom blogs, podcasts, classroom group chats are good opportunities to teach the language to students. Creative and unique individuals are sought in the 21st-century. Therefore, educational institutions have an important role in gaining these skills for individuals.

What other skills an individual should have in 21st-century?

See you in my next post!
